With the ski season behind us, and the last of the snow gone, opening Day at La Parva is almost here. The Santa Cruz guys can't stop railing the berms and hitting the new dirt jumps before the public gets here, check out some of the new features below.

December 12, 2011 will unveil some new trails, pump track, and dirt jumps at the La Parva bike park near Santiago, Chile.

 why the hell do you have to ride the ski lift to the top to ride the pump track? do they expect you to ride your pump track bike DH?

 No, they expect you to walk it... Obviously you ride it.

 After watching that first video, I'm now going to book my winter trip to either Milwaukee or Cleveland......I'm going to Ray's.

Two days in the air and shuttling in and out of airports doesn't look like it'd be worth to ride the trails highlighted in the vids. Horrible!!!!!!!

 The pump track is actually at the bottom of the lift, so need to ride your hard tail bike on the big trails or vice versa.

 antmav: I agree horrible edit! I am from Chile and I have been going to La Parva since 2003, long before they opened the lift for bikes during the summer. There are some really great places to ride there and it is shame that they didn´t show them.

Chile is a great country to ride, we have many many awesome trails and DH tracks, unfortunately, in terms of infrastructure we are still 10 years behind. It is just a matter of time. Who knows, maybe in a few years you will be booking a 2 weeks mountain bike vacation down there Wink

 @Pato
Glad to hear there is way more to the La Parva Park and Chile than what was shown in the two vids.

I think the best thing that can be done right now is get all the local riders and filmakers together and put together a reflective video showing the varitey of trails, landscape, and sweet riding.

That's what will get people pumped and me on a plane!!!!!!!!!!!!

Props!

 im hating because im pretty shur that most people on pb with bikes that weigh from 38lbs to 55 would agree that it looks like a complete waste of time, a pump track and a couple dirt jumps dosent make it a bike park that needs to hav a chair lift, in my opinion just a complete waste of time for the people who had to take wat ever they needed to build that up a mountain when they could hav made it on a feild 10 mins frome the city, idk about any1 else but it dosent really make sense to me?

 NORTHVAN4LIFE..i'm glad you can represent most people on pb, because the site was in need of a senator. I once read some where a good saying, i think it went something like this...."if u dont have anything nice to say dont say it if ur havin fun s'all good! i might not b as good as u or b able to keep up but u dont have to be a douche about it, im having fun so f**k off" Oh you know what??? I believe i read it on your profile...ironic...huh! I just wish people would practice what they preach. "Keep it civil! Be constructive and on-topic"

 You guys haven't seen the other tracks in the area. There's much more to Chile than one bike park. The ride down from the park into town, on sick singletrack on exposed ridges, takes about 45+ minutes. Cedric didn't get paid anything. He has joined me down there for the last 3 or 4 years, and loves it. It's a fantastic place to spend some weeks in the winter.

 That was just a sample of some new things for this year, there is plenty more in our park than the pump track and dirt jumps. Wait till we open for more content and more features. We are not Whistler but with our terrain we can offer some really unique riding, so stay tuned!

 There's a reason CG was riding one, the bike park is very gnarly, the terrain itself is really rough. The pump track is something new they added this year, and it's only a very small part of the bike park.
Personally I haven't been to this bikepark, but I plan on going this summer.
